Turn the page on traditional art projects and dive into a soulful, story-filled experience. In this collaborative, two-part workshop, artists Renee Smith and Danielle Kaminski will guide you in transforming an ordinary hardback book into a blooming, textured, handmade work of art.
This immersive class is designed to help you layer story and style through fabric, fiber, and embellishment—resulting in a deeply personal piece you’ll cherish.
Session 1: Fiber Florals & Embellishments with Danielle Kaminski
Start your journey with softness, symbolism, and creative play. In this first session, Danielle will teach you how to craft fiber flowers, weave in textures, and layer thoughtful embellishments. You’ll create a collection of custom florals and fabric accents that speak to your personal story—each piece ready to be tucked into your altered book.
Session 2: Book Altering with Renee Smith
Next, you’ll reshape your book into a sculptural canvas for your floral elements. Renee will guide you through folding, cutting, and mixed media techniques to prepare your book for transformation. With each turn of the page, you’ll be building a one-of-a-kind art object—equal parts story, stitch, and soul.
