This beautiful vintage 'Kutani Crane’ by Wedgwood antiqued silver adjustable ring has been created from an ashtray that I curated from a very odd little thrift/antique store in Duncan, SC! '
Kutani Crane’ by Wedgwood is a high-quality bone china pattern featuring 2 cranes nestled amongst bamboo & floral details. In many Asian cultures, the crane is associated with longevity, good fortune & prosperity, making Kutani Crane a pattern highly sought after for its elegance & meaningful symbolism! Production: 1971 – 1998.
This particular ring design was chosen from the ashtray, cut out with ceramic tile nippers, smoothed out to size & shape with my handy dandy grinder, then (white) grout is added to the edges to seal & protect the vintage china part of the pendant.
I have lovingly placed the porcelain piece into an oval + ornately shaped hammered antiqued silver over brass adjustable ring bezel. The china oval measures just under .75" x just over .5". The entire setting is a little over 1" long x 1.25 wide. The ring is adjustable to fit most every finger you might like to adorn with it!
